The wetlands play an important role in filtering water, reducing flood risks, and providing essential resources for birds. Spanning over 10,000 acres, it's one of the largest protected areas in the region. The primary purpose of this wildlife refuge is to provide a safe haven for migratory waterfowl, offering them vital nesting, resting, and feeding areas.
