DESCRIPTION

Add this one-of-a-kind Ferris wheel illusion to your fine art collection today. I painted this on site at the 2024 Canal Fest of the Tonawandas, NY. Varnished and ready to hang, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and will be carefully packed for safe shipping.

Engaging Art Process Videos: The illusion process was posted on social media on October 18th, 2024. Scroll down to see the full process video as well as a brief process lapse. View additional shortform content on my social media channels.

Environmental Responsibility: I prioritize environmentally-responsible practices, ensuring optimization of materials and minimal waste during the creation of this piece.

Process: This is my second Ferris wheel painting at Canal Fest. I was excited to match the previous year’s wheel again in 2024 to see my progress. This time, the clouds brought a unique set of challenges by blocking the sun, casting shadows over the illusion, and constantly changing the color of the sky. I had to adjust frequently to capture the true colors and ensure the illusion was successful despite the shifting light.

Location: This was filmed at the 2024 Canal Fest of the Tonawandas in NY, held on the historic Erie Canal, down the street from the Niagara River. While the festival offers modern fun entertainment, it also brings the Twin Cities of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda together, celebrating their heritage and the economic prosperity the Erie Canal brought to New York and the U.S. (Additional info included with painting.)

Key Features:

  • Original varnished plein air illusion oil painting

  • Acid-free fine art Bristol board, triple gessoed

  • Painting: 3.25 x 2.25 inches. Frame: 6.5 x 5 x 1 inches.

  • Custom black frame with acid-free double matting

  • Mounted with archival, acid-free methods that don't damage the original artwork; can be reframed in the future

  • Ready to display! Hanging hardware and wire pre-installed

  • Museum glass (virtually invisible) for optimal viewing

  • Certificate of authenticity included
