Swiss Alps Necklace: Micro Painting on Sea Glass

$145.00
DESCRIPTION

This sea glass necklace features a tiny painting of the Swiss Alps in wintertime. The Alps are painted in grays and blues and are graced with a substantial dusting of snow. White clouds swirl in the blue sky above. There’s a sense of winter magic in this painting.

This necklace makes a unique addition to any fine art collection, especially for a collection that favors nature and mountain pieces. The special draw of this piece is that is made on sea glass I picked from the Niagara River. The sea glass is a brilliant green with grooves, presumably where a cap may have been screwed on.

Because this piece was made with a recycled material, it would be especially treasured by someone who cares about the environment.

DETAILS:

Frosty green sea glass from Niagara River.
Oil paint and high-gloss coating.
18 inch 18k gold-plated chain and bale with lobster claw clasp.
Black velvet necklace box with ribbon bow.
Certificate of authenticity included.

ALPS AT LAUTERBRUNNEN:

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. (Source: My Switzerland.) With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colorful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.

The Swiss Alps cover roughly 60% of the country’s area. (Source: Touring Switzerland.) The Alps cross through seven countries in Europe besides Switzerland, including France, Germany, Italy, and more. The breathtaking scenery in the Swiss Alps makes it one of the most treasured destinations in the world.

SEA GLASS’S JOURNEY:

  • Sand was turned into glass

  • The glass was made into products

  • The products were consumed and discarded

  • Water, sand, and wind soften the broken bits of glass

  • I find it on a sandy beach and turn it into fine art

  • You add it to your art collection and help the sea glass continue its journey

COLOR MATCH QUEEN:

I’m known as the Color Match Queen of social media because I have the skill of mimicking colors realistically with my paint.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

I pursue high-efficiency, low waste art making methods because I care about the environment. Those methods include using repurposed items, like sea glass, as “canvases” for my paintings.
