New Beginnings, Beaver Island Lagoon: Limited Edition Giclee Print of Plein Air Illusion

DESCRIPTION

This is a signed limited-edition giclee print of a plein air illusion I created at the Beaver Island Lagoon in September. With my acute color matching skills, I made my painting blend into the surroundings, true to color. The painting is entitled New Beginnings because September marked the start of an important new season in my life.

This is a limited-edition print, which means there will only be 60 like this printed. The prints are numbered 1/60. Each print is personally editioned (signed, titled, and numbered) by me.

It was made with archival inks on acid-free, high-quality paper to ensure longevity for the art print.

PROCESS

This painting marks a special shift in season, as summer drew to a close and autumn arrived. The slightly golden haze on the trees and shrubs as well as the goldenrod in the field signal the change in the season. I had to work quickly and efficiently to complete this illusion before the shadows on the pond would change and the illusion would no longer match up. Tthe original painting was made with oil paint, which is my favorite medium.

BEAVER ISLAND LAGOON

A gem within Beaver Island State Park, this lagoon is fed by the majestic Niagara River. Beaver Island, a part of Grand Island, spans 950 acres and offers various recreational activities, from swimming to golfing, sledding, and snowshoeing. The lagoon, surrounded by natural beauty, is a haven for birdwatchers, attracting migratory birds, Ospreys, and Bald Eagles. (More Beaver Island/Niagara River info included with the artwork.)
