Parrot Micro Oil Painting on Grain of Rice: Framed, Magnifying Glass Included

$385.00
DESCRIPTION

I painted a parrot on a tiny grain of uncooked jasmine rice. I carefully framed the painting with a double matting. A magnifying glass is included, which will magnify the rice by 10x. The magnifying glass is stored on the back of the frame with a fastener.

This is a unique piece of art that will excite and engage friends and family. Whether you’re just starting out or you have a wide art collection, this is an unusual and special piece to expand the bounds of your art collection.

DETAILS:

Oil paint and glossy varnish over a triple layer of gesso.
Grain of uncooked jasmine rice is about 5/16 of an inch in length.
Black double-matted tabletop fame is 4.75 x 3.75 inches.
Vintage magnifying glass magnifies by 10x.
Signed on front and back.
Certificate of authenticity included.

PROCESS:
I was ready for a challenge, and this was the smallest “canvas” I could think of. I carefully color matched all the colors to real parrot colors. The parrot is not simply red, for example, but a mix of two reds, yellow, blue, and white.

I use very small brushes and no magnifying glass during the painting process.

SCARLET MACAWS:

The Scarlet Macaw is a large, vibrantly colored parrot that inhabits tropical rainforests in Central and South America, known for its ability to mimic human speech and form close pair bonds with lifetime partners.  (Source: A-Z Animals.)

The Scarlet Macaw prefers humid evergreen forests located at elevations between 1,000 and 3,000 feet, primarily residing in the upper layers and canopies of trees in their natural habitat.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

I pursue high-efficiency, low waste art making methods because I care about the environment.

COLOR MATCH QUEEN:

I’m known as the Color Match Queen on social media because I produce art with realistically matched colors.
