Unbeatable Lion: Original Miniature Oil Painting with Rustic Stained Easel

DESCRIPTION

This is an original mini oil painting of an unbeatable lion. Rustic stained easel included. This features a profile view of the lion, who gazes onward with a determinedly set jaw.

DETAILS:

Oil paint and varnish on gessoed wood panel. Hanger on back.
The painting is approximately 1.5 x 2.25 inches. Initialed on front and signed on back.
The sides are painted black.
The wood easel is 4 x 4.3 inches, stained by me.
Certificate of authenticity included.

LION FACTS:

Lions are large, powerfully built cats, second in size only to the tiger. (Source: Brittanica.) The proverbial “king of beasts,” the lion has been one of the best-known wild animals since earliest times. Lions are most active at night and live in a variety of habitats but prefer grassland, savanna, dense scrub, and open woodland. Historically, they ranged across much of Europe, Asia, and Africa, but now they are found mainly in parts of Africa south of the Sahara. An isolated population of about 650 Asiatic lions constitute a slightly smaller race that lives under strict protection in India’s Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary.

DISPLAY:

The painting can be displayed two ways. The first way is simply on the easel. The second is that you could hang the painting on a nail or pin by using the metal hanger on the back of the painting.
