Radiant Alpine Red Fox: Framed Miniature Oil Painting with Easel

DESCRIPTION

This is a custom-framed miniature oil painting with a black easel included. The alpine red fox glances at you from atop a snowy hill, mysterious and elusive.

The painting is an original oil painting I made. My partner and I custom built the frame. The frame is made in floating frame style, which leaves a gap between the frame and artwork for protection and to show depth.

DEPICTION:

Standing upon snow, the red fox gazes watchfully over its shoulder. Behind the fox are alpine hills in soft blues and pinks.

DETAILS:

Painting made with wood panel, gesso, oil paint, and varnish.
Frame made with basswood, stain, and gloss varnish.
Signed with acrylic pen on back.

DIMENSIONS:

Frame is 3.1 inches wide, 2.4 inches in height, and 0.4 inches deep.
Artwork area (portion that's the fox painting) is 2.3 inches wide by 1.5 tall.
Easel is 4 inches width by 4.3 in height.

RED FOX FACTS:

Red foxes are about three feet long and two feet tall. Red foxes can be found throughout the continental United States from Alaska to Florida. The smallest population is in the Southwest, where it is very rare to see a red fox. Red foxes like open areas in woodlands, rural and suburban neighborhoods, wetlands, and brushy fields. Red foxes are solitary, so it is easy for them to hide and escape people (source: National Wildlife Federation).
