Beach View From Fort Niagara: Custom-Framed Oil Painting

$1,290.00
DESCRIPTION

This is a custom-framed original oil painting of the view from Fort Niagara’s beach. A sailboat with dark blue sail leaves Lake Ontario, heading towards the mouth of the Niagara River.

The beach is sandy and rocky. The water goes from dark blue to a light blue-green; the abrupt change in color is likely because this is where the two bodies of water meet.

The view is painted standing in the U.S. but looking to Canada. Niagara on the Lake, Canada, is seen across the water in hazy atmospheric perspective.

A dark tree and short pier grace the foreground of this painting. The foreground shadows are dark, which reminds of the somewhat haunting history of the Fort.

I had this custom framed by local experts. I specifically chose this particular wood because it reminded me of treasure chests and historical boats, which echo the location of this painting.

FORT NIAGARA:

Fort Niagara State Park is a New York State park that is located along the Lower Niagara River and Lake Ontario. (Source: Great Lakes Guide.) The park’s main attraction is Old Fort Niagara, which is a National Historic Landmark and an integral part in the struggles of France, Great Britain, and the United States to control the Great Lakes Region. The original fort was built in 1726, and it has since been a major site at the entrance to the Niagara River.

MY CONNECTION TO FORT NIAGARA:

I’ve always been mesmerized by Fort Niagara. The Fort and buildings are nearby this beach. If you stand on the beach long enough, you’ll hear canon shots from the Fort’s reenactments. I’ve been coming to Fort Niagara for years as place to rest, reflect, and hope for a more peaceful future for the world. Much of my art revolves around the Niagara River because of its beauty and rich history.

COLOR MATCH QUEEN:

I’m known as the Color Match Queen of social media because I have the skill of mimicking colors realistically with my paint.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

I pursue high-efficiency, low waste art making methods because I care about the environment.
