River Otter Darling: Original Miniature Oil Painting with Rustic Mini-Easel

$315.00

This is a miniature oil painting of a darling river otter, painted in great detail using a very small brush. I color matched the otter colors carefully so that it would faithfully reflect the colors of river otters. The otter is perched behind the log and looks pleasantly onward, toward its next adventure. I painted this to honor a special otter I knew as a child, which was rehabilitated in an aquarium, as well as in fond memories of wild river otters I would occasionally see after rainstorms.

DETAILS

Oil painting with glossy varnish on wood panel.
Ready to display on easel or can be framed.
Panel is solid wood and triple gessoed. Sides of panel are painted.
Painting is approximately 3 x 2.25 inches.
The easel is 4 x 4.3 inches.
Certificate of authenticity included.

RIVER OTTERS

River otters are the aquatic acrobats of North America's freshwater ecosystems. With their sleek bodies and playful personalities, these enchanting creatures captivate observers as they gracefully glide through rivers, lakes, and marshes. Living in close-knit social groups, river otters showcase remarkable teamwork and cooperative hunting strategies, adding a touch of camaraderie to their underwater adventures. From agile dives to playful antics, these skilled predators demonstrate their adaptability and resilience in the face of changing environments. Despite challenges like habitat loss, conservation efforts have fueled their resurgence, reminding us of the importance of safeguarding their watery homes for generations to come.
