Scottish Highlander Necklace: Micro Oil Painting on Sea Glass

$165.00

DESCRIPTION

This necklace bears the Scottish highlands painted on Niagara River sea glass.

DEPICTION:

In the foreground, lush hills of green, yellow, and blue. The hills are dotted with dark trees and shrubs, which I painted with the tiniest of paint brushes. In the background, a bluish-green hill fades into the distance. The sky above the scene is mottled with bluish-grays and white.

DETAILS:

  • Whitish/semi-transparent sea glass from Niagara River

  • Oil paint and glossy resin varnish

  • 18 inch gold-plated chain and bail (shiny); lobster claw clasp (clasp is snug—I hate lose clasps)

CALLING ALL OUTLANDERS:

This necklace might be perfect for you if you’re someone who wishes you could travel through time and roam among the Scottish Highlands. If you feel a sense of kinship with the Highlands, even though you may never have been there, this is a way to show the world you keep the Highlands close to your heart. Sea glass reminds me of Claire’s time travel journey in the Outlander series, because sea glass has also had a long and harrowing journey.

SEA GLASS’S JOURNEY:

  • Sand was turned into glass

  • The glass was made into products

  • The products were consumed and discarded

  • Water, sand, and wind soften the broken bits of glass

  • I find it on a sandy beach and turn it into something new

I’m certain you’ll be pleased with the quality of this product. I currently offer shipping to the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia. If you need shipping to any additional countries, please let me know so I can expand my shipping options.

If you have any questions, please message me. :)
