Oil-painted Quarter Necklace: Cumberland Island Snowy Egret White Heron

$125.00
DESCRIPTION

This necklace features a tiny oil painting of a snowy egret at Cumberland Island National Seashore in Georgia. The egret spreads its mighty little wings, with a sunset marsh behind it.

SNOWY EGRETS:

Snowy egrets are medium-sized herons with long, thin legs and long, slender, bills. (Source: All About Birds.) Snowy Egrets wade in shallow water to spear fish and other small aquatic animals. While they may employ a sit-and-wait technique to capture their food, sometimes they are much more animated, running back and forth through the water with their wings spread, chasing their prey.

CUMBERLAND ISLAND:

Cumberland Island is Georgia's largest and southernmost barrier island. (Source: National Park Service.) Here pristine maritime forests, undeveloped beaches and wide marshes whisper the stories of both man and nature. Natives, missionaries, enslaved African Americans and Wealthy Industrialists all walked here.  Cumberland Island is also home to over 9,800 acres of Congressionally designated Wilderness.

Oil paint and glossy coating.
Chain and bail are 14k gold-plated. Shiny and sturdy; lobster claw clasp (closes securely; isn’t flimsy).
